For the tree, I used a design by Nichole on the LOTR Costume Research site for a pattern, cut it out from a scrap of white taffeta, and appliqued onto black nylon, using tear away fabric stabilizer. I used a satin stitch around the entire outline in white, and a random scattered stitch in silver metallic for the interior. Then I beaded the outline in silver and clear seed beads. I thought about how Arwen would feel, having Aragorn gone off to war, never knowing if she would see him again, while she worked on this for him...so I put a lot of detail into it. I have since removed it from the black nylon, have a piece of heavy black satin that I am going to put it on instead. I have finished templates for the stars, and will use silver metallic material and iron on fuse-able, still have to do the crown and then hang it on a dowel rod I have yet to paint!
